Sur un blog d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 Windows 7, Microsoft explique quelques-unes des optimisations de son syst\u00e8me pour les SSD.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Quelques optimisations d\u00e9sactiv\u00e9es<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n

Avec un SSD (pour peu que le syst\u00e8me le reconnaisse comme tel), Windows 7 d\u00e9sactive certaines optimisations. Vous ne comprenez pas ? C’est normal, les optimisations en question sont destin\u00e9es aux disques durs et \u00e0 leurs plateaux en rotation, chose que les SSD ne poss\u00e8dent pas. Dans les faits, le SuperFetch (un pr\u00e9chargement des donn\u00e9es souvent utilis\u00e9es) et le ReadyBoost (l’utilisation de m\u00e9moire flash pour r\u00e9duire l’acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la lecture de certaines donn\u00e9es) sont d\u00e9sactiv\u00e9s parce qu’ils sont inutiles sur un SSD. De plus, la d\u00e9fragmentation automatique est supprim\u00e9e parce qu’elle ne sert \u00e0 rien (\u00e9tant donn\u00e9 la fa\u00e7on dont sont \u00e9crites sur les SSD et l’absence de temps de latence variable) et la cr\u00e9ation de partition est effectu\u00e9e de fa\u00e7on efficace, avec un alignement sur les blocs de la m\u00e9moire flash (ce que ne fait pas Windows XP).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Enfin, le support du TRIM \u2014 une technique qui permet de d\u00e9l\u00e9guer une partie de la gestion de l’usure au syst\u00e8me d’exploitation \u2014 est bien impl\u00e9ment\u00e9 (dans la RC) mais n\u00e9cessite \u00e9videmment un SSD \u00e9quip\u00e9 d’un firmware compatible, ce qui n’existe pas actuellement. Selon Microsoft, le syst\u00e8me de fichier NTFS a \u00e9t\u00e9 adapt\u00e9 et les outils qui \u00e9crivent sur les supports (format<\/em>, delete<\/em>, etc.) sont compatibles avec la norme. Pour le moment, seul OCZ propose un support du TRIM, mais avec un utilitaire externe, alors que des rumeurs indiquent qu’Intel, notamment, devrait proposer un firmware compatible d\u00e8s la sortie de la version finale de Windows 7.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Au final, on se rend compte que Microsoft adapte son OS aux nouvelles technologies et que m\u00eame si les SSD sont proches des disques durs dans le comportement logique, ils restent assez diff\u00e9rents en utilisation au quotidien.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
