La carte en question serait \u00e9quip\u00e9e d’un contr\u00f4leur Thunderbolt 2<\/strong>, capable d’atteindre 20 gigabits\/s.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Thunderbolt 2<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n

La carte utiliserait un contr\u00f4leur FalconRidge 2C, soit un contr\u00f4leur Thunderbolt 2 (20 gigabits\/s) capable de prendre en charge un seul \u00e9cran. Les versions 4C des contr\u00f4leurs sont en effet capable de prendre en charge deux \u00e9crans DisplayPort, mais Intel aurait choisi \u2014 pour des raisons pratiques \u2014 la version de base de la puce. Rappelons qu’en Thunderbolt 2, la bande passante de 20 gigabits\/s est partag\u00e9e entre la partie vid\u00e9o et la partie donn\u00e9es<\/em>, avec 20 gigabits\/s au maximum, alors qu’en Thunderbolt classique, on a 10 gigabits\/s pour la vid\u00e9o et 10 gigabits\/s pour les donn\u00e9es, sur deux canaux s\u00e9par\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

La carte elle-m\u00eame s’interfacerait en PCI-Express 2.0 x4 et int\u00e9grerait une entr\u00e9e DisplayPort interne. La carte ne fonctionnera a priori pas sur toutes les cartes m\u00e8res : il faudra, selon les documents, une carte m\u00e8re \u00e9quip\u00e9e d’un BIOS adapt\u00e9 pour la prise en charge du branchement \u00e0 chaud, d’un connecteur DisplayPort interne pour r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer la vid\u00e9o et d’un connecteur GPIO. Les rumeurs n’indiquent pas le r\u00f4le de ce connecteur, mais il semble obligatoire et limite donc la compatibilit\u00e9 aux cartes \u00e9quip\u00e9es de ce dernier : impossible, donc, d’installer la carte dans n’importe que ordinateur.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\"ImageLa carte Asus<\/span><\/span><\/span>Notons que la carte ThunderboltEX d’Asus, jamais sortie, n\u00e9cessitait un connecteur du m\u00eame genre, mais r\u00e9cup\u00e9rait la vid\u00e9o en externe, via<\/em> un connecteur DisplayPort.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Intel proposera a priori deux versions de la carte : une pour les machines \u00e0 base de chipsets H97, H87 et Q87 et une pour les machines \u00e0 base de X79. La diff\u00e9rence vient de l’int\u00e9gration du DisplayPort : dans le premier cas, les cartes m\u00e8res r\u00e9cup\u00e9reront le DisplayPort en interne, au niveau de l’IGP, alors que dans le second cas, il faudra r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer le signal vid\u00e9o sur une carte graphique classique, \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re des premi\u00e8res cartes 3dfx.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Reste bien \u00e9videmment \u00e0 v\u00e9rifier le prix de la carte et ses performances. En attendant, l’USB 3.0 reste un choix bien plus int\u00e9ressant : dans le domaine du stockage, qui repr\u00e9sente une bonne partie des p\u00e9riph\u00e9riques Thunderbolt, l’USB 3.0 se paye le luxe d’\u00eatre plus rapide que la norme d’Intel quand on se \u00ab contente \u00bb d’un seul SSD.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
