Nous allons tester le mod\u00e8le compatible G-Sync, estampill\u00e9 AW2518H, qui est vendu chez Dell \u00e0 436 euros. Notez que la version FreeSync du m\u00eame moniteur est aussi disponible pour les cartes graphiques Radeon au prix de 296 euros.<br \/><br \/>Cet \u00e9cran vaut-il le coup pour les joueurs ? Nous n&#8217;aimons pas trop cette expression utilis\u00e9e \u00e0 tord et \u00e0 travers en ce moment chez les smartphones, mais rappelons qu&#8217;elle avait \u00e9t\u00e9 invent\u00e9e d&#8217;abord pour les moniteurs (bezel-less), afin de d\u00e9signer ce type de conception sans bordure visible, juste cach\u00e9es sous le rev\u00eatement de la dalle.<br \/><br \/>Ici, la finesse de ces bordures est tout de m\u00eame impressionnante : seulement 5 mm au total. De quoi faire du multi-\u00e9cran avec une coupure de 1 cm. En revanche, on peut d\u00e9celer sur cette photo un petit effet de vignettage (l\u00e9ger assombrissement de l&#8217;image proche de rebords). Le DeltaE moyen est arrondi \u00e0 1, ce qui est excellent. Beaucoup de couleurs sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme parfaitement dans la cible ou presque. On retrouve la tradition tr\u00e8s \u00e9litiste de Dell dans le secteur des \u00e9crans, une technologie parfaitement ma\u00eetris\u00e9e par la marque.<br \/><br \/>Par ailleurs, la temp\u00e9rature du blanc est aussi excellente \u00e0 6000 K, ce qui est plut\u00f4t logique. M\u00eame \u00e0 240 Hz, les pixels sont assez rapides pour changer d&#8217;\u00e9tat avant le prochain rafra\u00eechissement (1\/240 = 4,2 ms). En comparaison, les <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tomshardware.fr\/comparatif-aoc-vs-viewsonic-duel-des-rois-du-165-hz-g-sync\/\">\u00e9crans IPS \u00e0 165 Hz que nous avions test\u00e9s<\/a> \u00e9tait plut\u00f4t \u00e0 7 ms en moyenne. L&#8217;ULMB de l&#8217;\u00e9cran fonctionne \u00e0 144 Hz, ce qui apporte une bonne luminosit\u00e9 et ne fait pas mal au yeux. En revanche, ce mode force l&#8217;overdrive un cran au dessus, ce qui fait appara\u00eetre un d\u00e9but de <em>reverse ghosting<\/em> qu&#8217;on peut voir sur la photo. Il faudra donc d&#8217;abord une grosse carte graphique, \u00e0 moins de jouer \u00e0 des jeux relativement anciens comme Counter Strike : Source. Pour le reste, il faudra aussi un gros CPU capable de ne pas brider la carte graphique. On reconna\u00eet bien l\u00e0 l&#8217;expertise de longue date de Dell dans les moniteurs. Le design est appr\u00e9ciable et la finesse de bordure est un r\u00e9el apport. Les 240 Hz peuvent sonner marketing, mais l&#8217;apport en nettet\u00e9, avec un overdrive parfaitement r\u00e9gl\u00e9 (encore), est r\u00e9ellement visible, de quoi apporter une nettet\u00e9 quasi-parfaite des mouvements, proche du mode ULMB. Alors certes, il faudra attendre avant de pouvoir profiter de 240 Hz dans les jeux r\u00e9cents, mais la fin de la nostalgie des \u00e9crans CRT est proche ! Seul regret : payer aussi cher pour une dalle TN.
