Le consortium VESA pr\u00e9sente la nouvelle norme DisplayPort 2.0. Ce standard offre presque trois fois plus de bande passante que son pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur, le DiplayPort 1.4 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 en 2016<\/a>. Il atteint en effet 77,37 Gbit\/s sur un seul c\u00e2ble, contre 25,92 Gbit\/s pour l\u2019ancienne version. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans les faits, le DisplayPort 2.0 permet d’atteindre 1000 Hz en 1080p (sans HDR) et m\u00eame le 8K \u00e0 60 Hz avec HDR. Ces deux formats n\u00e9cessitent quasiment la m\u00eame bande passante, puisqu\u2019ils requi\u00e8rent environ 2 milliards de pixels par seconde. Pour des moniteurs 1000 Hz, il va cependant falloir patienter quelques ann\u00e9es. Pour rappel, les premiers \u00e9crans 120 Hz datent de 2009, les 240 Hz de 2016. Le 480 Hz<\/a> est actuellement en phase d\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le DisplayPort 2.0 reprend plusieurs am\u00e9liorations issues de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, comme le FEC (Forward Error Compressio<\/em>n). Celui-ci devient une partie essentielle de DisplayPort 2.0 en \u00e9tant d\u00e9sormais utilis\u00e9 syst\u00e9matiquement. Parmi les ajouts, citons notamment le DSC (Display Stream Compression<\/em>). Cette technologie utilise la compression pour \u00e9conomiser de l’\u00e9nergie et de la bande passante sans introduire d’artefacts visuels ni ajouter de latence significative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les premiers produits certifi\u00e9s DisplayPort 2.0 devraient arriver fin 2020. VESA indique que son standard peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 avec l\u2019USB Type-C et le Thunderbolt 3<\/a>.
