Lors de la Flash Memory Summit, Toshiba a \u00e9t\u00e9 la star du salon. En plus de son nouveau facteur de forme XFMExpress qui a remport\u00e9 le prix Best of Show, l\u2019entreprise a \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 plusieurs produits, dont le SSD NVMe PCIe Gen4 Toshiba CM6. La firme a donn\u00e9 des d\u00e9tails sur sa m\u00e9moire ultra-rapide XL-Flash, des informations sur les prochaines g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de sa m\u00e9moire BiCS et aussi sur le d\u00e9veloppement du PLC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

PLC et XL-Flash<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

En ce qui concerne la m\u00e9moire BiCS, chaque nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration co\u00efncidera avec celles de la norme PCIe. Ainsi, Toshiba commercialisera prochainement la BiCS-5 en PCIe 4.0. Suivront la BiCS-6 et la BiCS-7. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 n\u2019a pas donn\u00e9 de calendrier pr\u00e9cis. On sait simplement que la BiCS-5 offrira une bande passante de 1200 T\/s, que la BiCS-6 atteindra 1600 T\/s et la BiCS-7 2000 T\/s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toshiba a \u00e9galement indiqu\u00e9 avoir d\u00e9but\u00e9 les recherches sur le successeur du QLC, la m\u00e9moire flash NAND \u00e0 cinq bits par cellule (PLC). Celle-ci stocke jusqu\u2019\u00e0 32 niveaux de tension distincts, que les contr\u00f4leurs SSD doivent g\u00e9rer avec pr\u00e9cision. Et si le QLC est d\u00e9j\u00e0 assez lent et a une endurance plus faible que les autres types de flash, le PCL accentuera ces d\u00e9fauts. Cependant, le d\u00e9bit et la latence b\u00e9n\u00e9ficieront des nouvelles caract\u00e9ristiques du protocole NVMe, telles que les Zoned Namespaces (ZNS). Cette technologie r\u00e9duit l\u2019amplification de l\u2019\u00e9criture, le besoin de sur approvisionnement et l’utilisation de la DRAM par le contr\u00f4leur interne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfin, parmi les autres annonces importantes, il y avait bien s\u00fbr la m\u00e9moire XL-Flash, la r\u00e9ponse de Toshiba \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire Z-NAND de Samsung et Optane d’Intel. Les premi\u00e8res pi\u00e8ces s\u2019armeront d\u2019un die de 128 Gb (en bo\u00eetiers de 2, 4 ou 8 puces) en 16 couches. Selon Toshiba, la latence en lecture est inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 5 microsecondes. La production en s\u00e9rie doit d\u00e9buter l\u2019ann\u00e9e prochaine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
