Qualcomm profite du Snapdragon Tech Summit pour annoncer une nouvelle plateforme de r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle et augment\u00e9e. Baptis\u00e9e XR2, elle vient se placer au dessus de l’actuelle plateforme XR, qui reste toutefois aussi au catalogue du constructeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deux \u00e0 quatre fois plus puissant qu’un Snapdragon 835<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Par rapport \u00e0 un Snapdragon 835 (CPU Kryo 280, GPU Adreno 540, DSP Hexagon 682 et ISP Spectra 280), la plateforme XR2 offre des performances CPU et GPU multipli\u00e9es par deux et un pixel rate multipli\u00e9 par quatre. Compar\u00e9 \u00e0 la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, la plateforme XR2 est 50\u00a0% plus rapide en shader processing et pixel\/texel rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle : test de 5 CPU sur 11 jeux en VR<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un casque de r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle bas\u00e9 sur cette plateforme pourra \u00eatre \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9cran atteignant 3Kx3K pour chaque \u0153il, le tout en 120 IPS. Les \u00e9crans \u00e0 120 Hz sont bien entendu pris en charge, de m\u00eame que la 8K \u00e0 60 IPS ou \u00e0 360\u00b0, et les normes HDR10 et HDR10+.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

La partie audio a\n\u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9lior\u00e9e, avec la possibilit\u00e9 de contr\u00f4le vocal\net de gestion contextuelle de l\u2019environnement. L\u2019IA pourra par\nexemple avertir le joueur qu\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e8nement audio externe requiert\nson attention, tel un b\u00e9b\u00e9 qui pleure. Il est aussi possible de\nfaire de la traduction en temps r\u00e9el.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la gestion de 7 cam\u00e9ras et de nombreux capteurs compl\u00e9mentaires, le suivi de la t\u00eate, des yeux, des mains voire du corps entier est pris en charge, de m\u00eame que la reconnaissance vocale et faciale. L\u2019IA permet en outre de faire de la reconstruction 3D et de la compr\u00e9hension d\u2019environnement, avec de la d\u00e9tection et reconnaissance d\u2019objets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette plateforme AR\/VR vise tous les march\u00e9s, du grand public au march\u00e9 m\u00e9dical en passant par les applications industrielles. Les premiers produits utilisant XR2 devraient \u00eatre disponibles sur le march\u00e9 d\u00e8s l’ann\u00e9e prochaine.
