Selon un rapport d’Andreas Schilling qui se base sur des documents internes destin\u00e9s aux OEM, les prochains CPU EPYC Milan gonfleraient les performances de 20 %. En effet gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une am\u00e9lioration de son architecture, les performances IPC (instructions par cycle) augmenteraient de 15 %, et les 5 autres pourcents correspondraient, quant \u00e0 eux, \u00e0 diverses optimisations au niveau des fr\u00e9quences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avec Zen 3, AMD adopterait \u00e9galement une approche diff\u00e9rente pour la gestion de ses c\u0153urs. Il utiliserait 64 c\u0153urs pour les charges de travail intensifs avec des fr\u00e9quences basses, puis 32 c\u0153urs avec une augmentation des fr\u00e9quences d’horloge. D’ailleurs de pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes rumeurs parlaient de fr\u00e9quences turbo atteignant 4,8 GHz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zen 3 : un cache L3 unifi\u00e9 dans le CCX<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mais ce ne sont pas les seules am\u00e9liorations. Le cache L3 pr\u00e9sent dans le Core Compute Complex (CCX) sera unifi\u00e9. Au lieu d’\u00eatre r\u00e9parti en deux caches de 16 Mo comme c’est actuellement le cas, il serait unifi\u00e9 dans un seul cache de 32 Mo, directement accessible pour tous les c\u0153urs pr\u00e9sents dans le Core Compute Die (CCD), avec un minimum de latence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour le moment, ces annonces concernent les versions professionnelles (EPYC), mais nul doute que ces avanc\u00e9es se retrouveront dans les versions grand public Ryzen 4000 de d\u00e9nomination Vermeer. Pour rappel, apr\u00e8s une certaine cacophonie qui laissait pr\u00e9sager leur retard, les processeurs Zen 3<\/a> sont bien pr\u00e9vus pour la fin de l’ann\u00e9e \u2013 y compris leurs d\u00e9clinaisons grand public.  C’est en tout cas ce qu’a laiss\u00e9 sous-entendre Lisa Su en personne, \u00e0 travers une vid\u00e9o dans laquelle elle d\u00e9clare \u00ab Zen 3 promet beaucoup en laboratoire, nous sommes sur la bonne voie pour un lancement dans le courant de l’ann\u00e9e, et j’ai h\u00e2te de vous en dire plus \u00bb<\/em>. Quelques semaines plus tard, Rick Bergman, vice-pr\u00e9sident ex\u00e9cutif d’AMD confirme la bonne avanc\u00e9e et s’engage sur la sortie des CPU Vermeer<\/a> avant la fin de l’ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
