Lorsque AMD a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 sa technologie SAM (Smart Access Memory), les crit\u00e8res pour en b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier s\u2019annon\u00e7aient relativement restreints\u00a0: Ryzen 5000, Radeon RX 6000<\/a> et carte m\u00e8re s\u00e9rie 500. Depuis, la situation a \u00e9volu\u00e9. ASRock a d’abord activ\u00e9 le SAM sur ses cartes m\u00e8res B450<\/a>. Ensuite, Asus a impl\u00e9ment\u00e9 le BAR redimensionnable<\/a>, la fonctionnalit\u00e9 qui sous-tend le SAM, sur ses cartes m\u00e8res Z490\/H470\/B460 ; autrement dit, avec des processeurs Intel. N\u00e9anmoins, n\u2019attendez pas une prise en charge du SAM sur des processeurs AMD ant\u00e9rieurs aux Ryzen 5000\u00a0: ils sont incapables de le g\u00e9rer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Image<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Concr\u00e8tement, le Smart Access Memory s\u2019appuie sur la fonctionnalit\u00e9 Resizable Base-Address Register. Celle-ci permet au CPU d\u2019outrepasser la limite de 256 Mo lorsqu\u2019il acc\u00e8de \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire VRAM du GPU. Cette possibilit\u00e9 n\u2019est pas nouvelle : le PCI-SIG l\u2019a introduite avec le PCIe 2.0. N\u00e9anmoins, son activation n\u00e9cessite un processeur capable de g\u00e9rer l\u2019instruction _pdep_u32 (PDEP\/PEXT) au niveau mat\u00e9riel. Or, si les Ryzen 5000 sous architecture CPU Zen 3 le sont, ce n\u2019est pas le cas de leurs anc\u00eatres, qui ne peuvent que l\u2019\u00e9muler. Ainsi, selon AnandTech<\/a>, les Ryzen 5000 offrent un d\u00e9bit multipli\u00e9 par 250 par rapport aux Ryzen 3000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plusieurs g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de Core Intel compatibles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ironiquement, les processeurs Intel sont capables de g\u00e9rer cette fonctionnalit\u00e9 depuis la quatri\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, Haswell, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire depuis 2014. Ainsi, sous r\u00e9serve de mises \u00e0 jour BIOS, le nombre de g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de puces Intel \u00e9ligibles est nettement sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celles d\u2019AMD. Dans tous les cas, le BAR redimensionnable n\u00e9cessite un GPU compatible\u00a0: en l\u2019\u00e9tat, seules les Radeon RX 6000 l’autorisent. Cependant, NVIDIA a indiqu\u00e9 que ses \u00e9quipes planchaient actuellement sur une technologie similaire<\/a> au SAM d\u2019AMD pour ses cartes graphiques Ampere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
