Pour se d\u00e9marquer des puces fabriqu\u00e9es par Apple et Qualcomm, Samsung mise sur l\u2019int\u00e9gration d\u2019une acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration mat\u00e9rielle du ray tracing gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une collaboration avec AMD. Ce partenariat entre les deux soci\u00e9t\u00e9s, ent\u00e9rin\u00e9 en 2019, devrait prochainement se mat\u00e9rialiser par la pr\u00e9sence de c\u0153urs graphiques RDNA2 au sein du futur SoC Exynos 2200<\/a>. Si jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, le support du ray tracing relevait de l\u2019hypoth\u00e8se, certes assez bien document\u00e9e, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 cor\u00e9enne a publi\u00e9 un message sur Weibo qui l\u00e8ve les derniers doutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En effet, le compte officiel de Samsung Exynos a confirm\u00e9 que l’Exynos de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration prendrait en charge la technologie ray tracing. Selon de pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes donn\u00e9es, l’Exynos 2200 profiterait d\u2019un GPU RDNA2 avec 6 unit\u00e9s de calcul, soit 384 processeurs de flux. En cons\u00e9quence, puisque l\u2019architecture est suppos\u00e9e \u00eatre calqu\u00e9e sur celle des GPU d\u00e9di\u00e9s d\u2019AMD, ces valeurs impliquent en principe 6 Ray Accelerators<\/em>. Vous l\u2019aurez remarqu\u00e9, Samsung a livr\u00e9 deux images illustratives ; levons quand m\u00eame toute ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 : le ray tracing n\u2019ajoute pas de flammes suppl\u00e9mentaires \u00e0 une sc\u00e8ne\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pamir et Voyager<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019Exynos 2200, qui pourrait b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d\u2019une gravure en 4 nm, r\u00e9pond au nom de code Pamir ; le GPU RDNA2 au nom de code Voyager. Concernant la partie CPU du SoC, il y aurait 8 c\u0153urs en tout et de trois types : 1 c\u0153ur haute performance, 4 c\u0153urs haute efficacit\u00e9, et 3 autres c\u0153urs \u00e0 mi-chemin entre les deux. Ce SoC ferait ses d\u00e9buts au sein des Galaxy S et Galaxy Note de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Par ailleurs, selon des informations partag\u00e9es par le Korea Economic Daily en mai dernier, la puce n\u2019aurait pas seulement vocation \u00e0 \u00e9quiper les smartphones mais officierait aussi au sein de PC portables<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
