Pat Gelsinger, PDG d’Intel, s\u2019attend \u00e0 ce que la p\u00e9nurie de composants perdure jusqu\u2019en 2024. Dans une interview t\u00e9l\u00e9vis\u00e9e accord\u00e9e \u00e0 TechCheck de CNBC, il explique que la raison est d\u00e9sormais li\u00e9e \u00e0 la disponibilit\u00e9 limit\u00e9e des principaux outils de fabrication. Logiquement, cette faible disponibilit\u00e9 constituerait un obstacle \u00e0 l’augmentation des capacit\u00e9s de production n\u00e9cessaire pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 une demande toujours tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voici ses propos : “C’est en partie la raison pour laquelle nous pensons que la p\u00e9nurie globale de semi-conducteurs va maintenant se prolonger jusqu\u2019en 2024 plut\u00f4t qu\u2019en 2023 selon nos pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes estimations, simplement parce que les p\u00e9nuries ont maintenant touch\u00e9 les \u00e9quipements et qu\u2019il sera plus difficile de construire de nouvelles lignes de production”<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ASML ne peut honorer toutes ses commandes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ce constat corrobore les d\u00e9clarations de Peter Wennink, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d’ASML. Il y a une dizaine de jours, celui-ci annon\u00e7ait que l\u2019entreprise, plus grand fabricant mondial de scanners lithographiques, ne serait pas en mesure de satisfaire plus de 60 % des commandes en scanners DUV cette ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 2021, ASML a livr\u00e9 286 scanners, soit 50 unit\u00e9s de plus qu\u2019en 2020. C\u2019\u00e9tait une augmentation de 18 %, mais il en faudrait plut\u00f4t une de 50 % pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande. Cette ann\u00e9e, l\u2019entreprise hollandaise pr\u00e9voit de remettre presque 300 scanners (55 scanners EUV et 240 scanners DUV environ). Rien pour que les scanners DUV, la firme a un carnet de commandes de 500 unit\u00e9s ; \u00e0 ce rythme, les d\u00e9lais sont donc d\u2019au moins deux ans. ASML s\u2019efforce d\u2019am\u00e9liorer sa capacit\u00e9 de production et esp\u00e8re pouvoir livrer 90 syst\u00e8mes EUV \/ 600 syst\u00e8mes DUV par an d’ici 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’avantage structurel d’Intel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pour en revenir \u00e0 Intel, Pat Gelsinger affiche logiquement un certain optimisme. Il estime que gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa branche Foundry, l\u2019entreprise qu\u2019il dirige a nettement plus d\u2019atouts que des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s fabless<\/em> comme AMD ou NVIDIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans une interview publi\u00e9e dans les colonnes de Bloomberg, le PDG d\u00e9clare : “Nous avons le sentiment d’\u00eatre mieux positionn\u00e9s que la plupart des autres entreprise. La combinaison de notre capacit\u00e9 interne ainsi que notre effet de levier sur les fonderies font que nous sommes tout simplement mieux positionn\u00e9s, et cela fait partie de l’avantage structurel d\u2019Intel.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intel inaugure une salle blanche de 25 000 m\u00b2 dans son usine DX1 situ\u00e9e dans l\u2019Oregon<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En d\u00e9but d\u2019ann\u00e9e, Intel a valid\u00e9 un investissement de 20 milliards de dollars allou\u00e9 \u00e0 la construction de deux nouvelles usines en Ohio<\/a>. Celles-ci seront op\u00e9rationnelles en 2025. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 a \u00e9galement annonc\u00e9 une enveloppe de plusieurs dizaines de milliards de dollars pour l’Europe<\/a> ; ce budget servira notamment \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9dification d\u2019une Mega Fab en Allemagne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
