Apr\u00e8s les processeurs Ryzen grand public<\/a>, les puces EPYC et l’acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur MI300<\/a>, place aux cartes graphiques. Toujours dans le cadre de son Financial Analyst Day<\/em>, AMD a partag\u00e9 sa feuille de route pour les GPU. Les cartes graphiques RDNA 3 seront commercialis\u00e9es avant la fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e. Cette g\u00e9n\u00e9ration offre une augmentation des performances par watt sup\u00e9rieure de 50 % selon l\u2019entreprise ; un genre d\u2019assertion \u00e0 prendre avec des pincettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AMD ne r\u00e9v\u00e8le pas le nom de la s\u00e9rie (Radeon RX 7000 ?) et se contente d\u2019\u00e9voquer des GPU Navi 3x ainsi qu\u2019une gravure en 5 nm. Pour rappel, les actuelles Radeon RX 6000 embarquent des GPU Navi 2x fabriqu\u00e9s \u00e0 partir du n\u0153ud 7 nm de TSMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place aux chiplets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Par ailleurs, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9voque “des technologies de packaging avanc\u00e9es combin\u00e9es \u00e0 une architecture \u00e0 base de chiplets”<\/em>. Pour le moment, le seul GPU \u00e0 exploiter une conception similaire est l\u2019Instinct MI250X<\/a>. AMD ne d\u00e9taille pas l\u2019architecture des cartes graphiques RDNA 3. Dans les grandes lignes, et sur le papier, le concept est simple : des chiplets interconnect\u00e9s via une Infinity Fabric formant une sorte de CrossFire transparent, per\u00e7u par le syst\u00e8me d\u2019exploitation comme un unique GPU. Dans le cas des solutions CDNA 2, il y a deux chiplets ; cette quantit\u00e9 pourrait passer \u00e0 quatre avec l\u2019architecture CDNA 3. Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 des processeurs, AMD a adopt\u00e9 une conception \u00e0 base de chiplets depuis les 2017 pour les puces EPYC, 2019 pour les processeurs Ryzen (Zen 2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La feuille de route des GPU mentionne \u00e9galement ceux bas\u00e9s sur l\u2019architecture RDNA 4, qui rime avec GPU Navi 4x.
