Hier, TSMC a d\u00e9taill\u00e9 ses proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de fabrication N3 (3 nm)<\/a> et N2 (2 nm). Pour le N3, le fondeur met en avant sa strat\u00e9gie FinFlex. Celle-ci offre aux concepteurs de puces plus de flexibilit\u00e9 afin qu’ils puissent plus facilement optimiser les performances, la puissance et la taille de leurs produits. Le 2 nm marquera la transition vers une toute nouvelle plateforme technologique synonyme de transistors nanosheet<\/em> (GAAFET).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le principe des transistors GAAFET consiste en des canaux entour\u00e9s de grilles afin de r\u00e9duire les fuites. Ces canaux peuvent \u00eatre \u00e9largis pour augmenter la puissance et am\u00e9liorer les performances ou, au contraire, r\u00e9tr\u00e9cis pour minimiser la consommation d’\u00e9nergie. L\u2019alimentation s\u2019effectue par le biais d\u2019un syst\u00e8me baptis\u00e9 BEOL (back-end-of-line<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

N3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La classe 3 nm englobe cinq n\u0153uds en tout. Le n\u0153ud principal est le N3 dont la production en volume doit d\u00e9buter dans le courant de l\u2019ann\u00e9e. Les N3E et N3P am\u00e9lioreront le ratio performance \/ watt. Le N3S offrira une meilleure densit\u00e9 de transistors tandis que le N3X autorisera des tensions plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es. Tous ces n\u0153uds de gravure m\u00e8nent \u00e0 2024 voire 2025 pour le dernier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Par ailleurs, la fonctionnalit\u00e9 FinFlex vise \u00e0 accro\u00eetre la flexibilit\u00e9 en accordant aux concepteurs de puces plus de choix pour chaque bloc\u00a0; c\u2019est une sorte de bo\u00eete \u00e0 outils \u00e0 transistors en quelque sorte. Les transistors FinFET 2-1 garantissent une surface r\u00e9duite et une faible consommation d\u2019\u00e9nergie. \u00c0 l\u2019inverse, les FinFET 3-2 maximisent les performances au d\u00e9triment de la surface et de la consommation. Bien s\u00fbr, ces diff\u00e9rentes configurations FinFET s\u2019ajoutent aux biblioth\u00e8ques de blocs logiques pour une multitude de configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

N2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

TSMC pr\u00e9voit de graver en 2 nm \u00e0 partir de 2025. Par rapport au N3E, le N2 doit d\u00e9livrer des fr\u00e9quences de 10 \u00e0 15 % sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 puissance et complexit\u00e9 \u00e9gales ; une consommation d’\u00e9nergie inf\u00e9rieure de 25 \u00e0 30 % \u00e0 fr\u00e9quence et nombre de transistors identiques. La densit\u00e9 n\u2019augmentera en revanche que de 10\u00a0%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
