AMD annonce une nouvelle nomenclature pour sa famille de processeurs mobiles. Celle-ci entrera en vigueur \u00e0 partir de 2023. Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, d\u00e8s les Mendocino<\/a>, destin\u00e9s aux ordinateurs portables vendus dans les 500 dollars, et les Dragon Range<\/a> pour les PC plus haut de gamme. L\u2019entreprise explique que “ce nouveau syst\u00e8me est fondamental pour la fa\u00e7on dont AMD nommera et num\u00e9rotera ses processeurs mobiles dans les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir, des ordinateurs portables fins et l\u00e9gers aux derniers SOC pour les jeux et la cr\u00e9ation de contenu”.<\/p>\n\n\n

AMD communique plusieurs justifications. D\u00e9j\u00e0, le fait que le syst\u00e8me de d\u00e9nomination actuel pour les processeurs mobiles Ryzen \u00e9tait “arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 son terme. Il ne pouvait tout simplement pas s’adapter \u00e0 l’afflux de nouveaux SOC dans les nouvelles cat\u00e9gories que nous d\u00e9veloppons”. Pour le nouveau, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 souhaitait un syst\u00e8me qui soit \u00e0 la fois “technique et informatif, de sorte qu’un passionn\u00e9 puisse rapidement “d\u00e9coder” le num\u00e9ro pour voir ce qu’il contient”, mais aussi “simple pour l’utilisateur moyen, o\u00f9 un chiffre plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 connote simplement une meilleure performance du processeur”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le premier chiffre r\u00e9v\u00e8le l\u2019ann\u00e9e du processeur. Le d\u00e9but sera 7 pour 2023. En 2024, nous passerons \u00e0 8, puis en 2025, \u00e0 9. Le deuxi\u00e8me rappelle le segment du processeur (Athlon Sivler ou Gold, Ryzen 3, 5, 7 ou 9, avec parfois deux chiffres par segment).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le troisi\u00e8me chiffre renseigne l\u2019architecture CPU : Zen 3, Zen 4\u2026 Pour les architectures comme Zen 3+, il faudra regarder le quatri\u00e8me chiffre, qui peut prendre deux valeurs : 0 ou 5. 0 pour Zen 3, 5 pour Zen 3+ ; 0 pour Zen 4, 5 pour Zen 4+. Enfin, la lettre en toute fin nous ram\u00e8ne en terrain connu : elle indique le facteur de forme \/ TDP. Les processeurs autorisant des configuration fanless (9 W ou moins) seront d\u00e9sign\u00e9s par la lettre e. Ceux dont le TDP est compris entre 15 et 28 W par les lettres U ou C. Les processeurs avec un TDP d\u2019environ 35 W sont caract\u00e9ris\u00e9s par le suffixe HS ; un TDP de 55 W est plus, HX.<\/p>\n\n\n
