L\u2019AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) est une fonctionnalit\u00e9 du FSR 3 qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e en octobre dernier sur les Radeon RX 7000 avec une version Preview<\/a>, h\u00e9las pas exempte de bogues<\/a>. L\u2019entreprise a ensuite rendu ses Radeon RX 6000 compatibles<\/a>, et tout r\u00e9cemment, les iGPU Radeon 700M<\/a>. Cependant, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, les pilotes ont tous \u00e9t\u00e9 des versions Preview\u00a0; ce ne sera plus le cas \u00e0 partir du 24 janvier.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u2019est le jour choisi par AMD pour lancer la Fluid Motion Frames en version \u00ab\u00a0stable\u00a0\u00bb. Cette technologie, qui est la Frame Generation d\u2019AMD, sera int\u00e9gr\u00e9e au sein de l\u2019HYPR-RX mais doit \u00e9galement \u00eatre propos\u00e9e en tant qu’option distincte dans les pilotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette date du 24 janvier co\u00efncidera d\u2019ailleurs avec la commercialisation de la Radeon RX 7600 XT, une nouvelle carte graphique sous architecture RDNA 3 officialis\u00e9e par AMD en d\u00e9but de semaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AMD copi\u00e9e par NVIDIA ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vous \u00eates maintenant au courant, l\u2019un des atouts de l\u2019AFMF par rapport aux DLSS de NVIDIA est son impl\u00e9mentation au niveau des pilotes graphiques des Radeon<\/strong>. Cette particularit\u00e9 permet \u00e0 cette solution d\u2019\u00eatre disponible sur l\u2019ensemble des jeux DirectX 11 et DirectX 12, sans que les d\u00e9veloppeurs soient mis \u00e0 contribution.<\/p>\n\n\n

Dans les deux cas, que ce soit pour la Frame Generation ou celle de NVIDIA \u2013 et contrairement au FSR \u2013 ces deux fonctionnalit\u00e9s sont limit\u00e9es aux GPU de leur soci\u00e9t\u00e9 m\u00e8re\u00a0: aux Radeon dans le premier cas, aux GeForce RTX 40 Series dans le second. Peut-\u00eatre que le LSFG 1.0, un outil magique activant la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de frames sur tous les jeux et tous les GPU<\/a>, saura r\u00e9unifier le meilleur des deux mondes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c0 en croire l\u2019article source, qui se base sur des propos tenus par Aaron Steinman (qui portent sur la FSR), responsable senior des produits Radeon chez AMD, NVIDIA pourrait copier sa concurrente pour proposer de la Frame Generation aux GeForce plus anciennes\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Je pense que ce que nous allons commencer \u00e0 voir, c’est que DLSS n’est disponible que sur certaines solutions, donc soit NVIDIA va exploiter notre solution parce que nous l’avons rendue open-source et cross-vendor, soit ils vont probablement devoir faire quelque chose de similaire\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nous nous abstiendrons de figurer les plans de NVIDIA en la mati\u00e8re. Soulignons simplement que l’entreprise propose le NIS (NVIDIA Image Scaling) une techno d’upscaling implant\u00e9e elle aussi au niveau du pilote<\/strong>. Celle-ci prend en charge les jeux DirectX 9, 10, 11, 12, Vulkan et OpenGL, sur plein de GeForce, y compris de l’\u00e8re Maxwell et Pascal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est de la mise \u00e0 l’\u00e9chelle en revanche, sans la composante IA du DLSS ; il n’est pas question de g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d’images non plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
